Tel Aviv Street Party – Celebrating Simcha Torah 2008

The music was pumping and the crowd, growing larger by the second was a sea of smiles, dancing singing and celebrating. Young couples, families, soldiers, pensioners, tourists, people walking their dogs, folks on bikes, carers pushing oldies in wheelchairs, you know… a true tel aviv melting pot, all sharing in the celebrations.

Jerusalem – A perfect time to visit the old city

Our visit to the old city in Jerusalem was to watch a show being presented at the Tower Of David called ‘The Night Spectacular’. Seeing the tower Of David lit up at night is a magnificent sight in itself, but the light show just took our breath away, it was absolutely brilliant!!

Group meditations are held all over the world for different causes and purposes. They are a very personal way for communities to come together and ‘pool their energy’ for a cause close to their hearts. There is a very real sense that you are ‘doing something’ about a problem that you would like to see resolved. You are in a very pure way, being part of the solution, it is a truly special experience.

Guided meditation is very easy. You are not required to simply focus on your breath, but are instead asked to listen to the words of the meditation leader who will guide you to visualise a story, to create images in your mind to match the story they are speaking of. Usually, the story will be the postive outcome of the cause/idea/reason everyone has gathered together.

Gurdjieff Movements Workshop in Israel September

During the weekend workshop, whilst learning 4-5 of these simple and immensely graceful movements, participants have an opportunity gain insight into the strategies of their personality. ‘Personalities are often precisely mirrored in the individuals approach to working with the movements’ says Jivan. ‘Its an interesting and very profound experience to begin to know one self from this perspective.’
