Gay Pride Tel Aviv 2008

The cities Ben Yehuda Street, quiet tranquil and almost empty a few hours before, soon filled to bursting as news that the colourful parade had began its route through the city towards Gordon Beach, the parades official party location.  Thousands came to celebrate and support gay friends, family, workmates and the  international GLBT community as a whole.  Tel Aviv’s energy was filled with the delicious sweetness of love and acceptance and as the huge parade of happy, rainbow cladded souls proudly passed by, tears welled up from joy for the sea of smiling faces. This photo, taken before the parade went by, is for me, fabulous testiment of the city I call home.. liberal, unique and giving space to all beliefs, Tel Aviv you are amazing!!
